Required Equipment: Tops: T-shirt (Long Sleeve recommended) or sweats. No Gi top! - Bottoms: Long loose fitting athletic pants, tactical pants or Gi pants. Shorts acceptable but not recommended. - Feet: Barefoot recommended- no footwear other than wrestling shoes.
Duty Belt / Gun Belt with training gun (injection-molded, plastic or rubber) - Please no live lethal guns, chemical/OC sprays, knives live TASERs/CEWs in the training site. If you are a detective or in CID and only wear a belt with a holster, then it is acceptable to wear that holster (or a similar training holster) with a training gun (injection molded, plastic or rubber gun). Don鈥檛 forget to wear inner belt so that the gun belt can be securely fastened
Optional: Groin & mouth protection. Load bearing equipment (helmet, body armor, gear, etc.) is not part of training but may be used with permission from instructor.
Other: Bring snacks, fruit & hydration drinks. Finger & toe nails must be clipped
Description: This Defensive Tactics course is a specialized defensive tactics course for law enforcement professionals. The course consists of stand-up and ground techniques taught in 40 hours over a 5-day period. Techniques address most common threat scenarios encountered by law enforcement personnel in the field.
These tactics are extremely effective when you are up against much larger and stronger opponents.
This is a hands-on course; therefore, the student must be fit for duty physically. Students must be capable of performing all associated skills and tactics taught in the course to be able to satisfactorily complete the course. This course is very demanding physically, any potential physical condition that may inhibit the student鈥檚 ability to participate will be at the discretion of the Instructors to allow the student to participate.

etc.) Head, eye, and throat protection will be provided by ALERRT
Description: This dynamic course of instruction is designed to prepare the first responder to
isolate, distract, and neutralize an active shooter. This course will cover shooting
and moving, threshold evaluation, concepts and principles of team movement, setting
up for and room entry techniques, approach and breaching the crisis site, secondary
responder tactics, improvised explosive devices, and post engagement priorities of
work. The course will culminate with dynamic force鈥憃n鈥慺orce scenarios.

etc.) Head, eye, and throat protection will be provided by ALERRT
Description: This course includes the complete delivery of the Tactical Medical for Patrol Officers course
of study.

Prerequisite: Sworn law enforcement officer (preferred: experience in tactical, firearms, and/or
law enforcement training)
Recommended Equipment: Good attitude, open mind, pen and paper, duty gear, flashlight used on duty, extra
batteries, personal groin protection, clothing for "force on force" drills, water
and or hydration system, note taking materials.
Description: This 2-day course is designed to provide the participant with training concepts,
techniques, and equipment considerations to increase their effectiveness and confidence
while operating in low鈥� or no鈥憀ight conditions. The course incorporates the use of
force鈥憃n鈥慺orce drills to validate the tactics and techniques covered. Topics will
center on approaching a target area, low light searching techniques, low light entry
methods, armed confrontations and unarmed suspect handling.
Time: (16 hours/2 days)
Class Size: 24 students, 16 LE from multiple agencies, 8 Fire / EMS, and 2 Dispatch per class.
Prerequisite: Participants must be state-certified law enforcement, fire, Tele-communicator or
EMS providers. EMS providers should be EMT-B certified (preferably EMT-I or EMT-P).
Required Equipment: Good attitude, open mind, pen and paper, duty gear or training uniform.
Recommended Equipment: Participants may wear their agency issued or approved uniform to class each session.
This course is a hands-on training course and participants are encouraged to wear
appropriate clothing for conducting practical exercises and scenarios. Fire and EMS
personnel do not need to bring bunker gear. Department or agency issued or personal
weapons, both primary and secondary, are not required for this course. Officers are
responsible for properly securing their weapons during the training course and should
follow agency policy. A lockable storage container will be available on-site to secure
handguns during the practical exercise portion of the course. Handguns must remain
in a secure holster to be stored in the provided lockable container. Ammunition,
weapon magazines, batons, electronic control devices, knives, and pepper spray are
not allowed in the training area at any time during the course. Duty radios for use
in train-ups and scenarios is strongly encouraged. This allows each individual to
work with their equipment they鈥檒l be using in an actual incident as well as it tests
interoperability of the system once multiple agencies are on scene.
Description: The Active Attack Integrated Response Course (AAIR) is a 16 hour performance level
direct delivery course designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire,
tele-communicator and emergency medical services (EMS) in active attack / shooter
events. The course provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based
on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines, which can be used at the point
of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims. The course also provides a model
framework for law enforcement, fire, and EMS to integrate responses during an active
attack / shooter event through the rescue task force concept. This course has been
designed to improve the safety and survivability of victims of active attack / shooter
events and increase the effectiveness, coordination, and resource integration between
law enforcement, fire, tele-communications and EMS when responding to these events.
ALETA/CLEST CERTIFIED Part Time /Auxiliary Officer Training Course. The course will include all ALETA/CLEST required course material with additional Physical Training such as O.C. Spray, Taser End-User, Low-light building searches, and extensive practical training. The course will provide 32 plus credit hours of practical training.
*All participants are required by CLEST to be enrolled in the Part-Time/Auxiliary Online training course via the CLEST Portal.

During this 8 hour block of instruction you will be taught the basic principles involved in the operation of a police radar unit. We will discuss the history of radar and explain how police radar functions. We will cover how to operate a radar unit and you will be required to set up and operate a radar unit as part of this course.
The use of a lidar unit will be covered.
This course is designed to improve training skills for law enforcement officers who will present traditional department trainings and/or facilitate groups. Participants will learn how to provide instruction using practical applications and learning principles.
Topics will include: Principles of Adult Learning; Research Practices and Techniques; Methods of Instruction; Testing and Evaluation; Communicating Clearly; Designing Lesson Plans, Instructional Objectives; Utilizing Training Aids; Role of the Instructor; Public Speaking; Legal Issues and CLEST Forms.
An emphasis will be placed on reality based training, exposing trainees to scenario development, safety protocols and procedures, teach-backs with critiques, and evaluations.
TARGET AUDIENCE: This class is open to all certified law enforcement officers with three or more years of law enforcement experience.
PREREQUISITES/EQUIPMENT:

In 2017, Act 423 established the operation of Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) in the state of Arkansas to provide communities with an option other than jail when a person experiencing an acute crisis due to a mental illness or other behavioral health condition commits a low-level offense.
Law enforcement is an integral part of this process. There are requirements set forth in Act 423 (2017) that define the critical role law enforcement plays when encountering an individual in the midst of a behavioral health crisis. The Act also establishes mandatory training that each officer should have, along with advanced training that is required for designated agencies.
Keeping officers safety foremost, this course will explore policies, procedures, and protocols for officers to follow while dealing with this difficult issue and identifying safety concerns.
This course will also provide a better understanding of the provisions in ACT 423 that establishes the formation of Crisis Stabilization Units, Crisis Intervention Teams and training guidelines for law enforcement. Included are guidelines for officer safety as well as the safety of behaviorally impaired individuals.
TARGET AUDIENCE: This class is open to all certified law enforcement officers
This course provides the basic operational theory and practical training for users to reasonably safely and effectively operate TASER CEWs. This course covers the TASER X26P, X2 and the new TASER 7 CEWs, and will certify those who successfully complete the course as TASER End-Users for a period of 1 year from the date of certification. This course is open to sworn law enforcement officers, military personnel, and licensed professional security employees.
This training consists of practical training and final certification (all attending students are required to fire 2 cartridges and attend full 8 hour class; there is no shorter recertification version).
Written test(s) will be included in this training. The course also includes several drills and exercises requiring physical exertion. Students should be in good physical condition and must advise the Instructor of any preexisting injuries or physical limitations.
This 3-day Patrol Rifle: Operator Course is for any officer who carries a carbine or rifle in the conduct of their police duties. The course begins with establishing the fundamentals of properly setting up one鈥檚 rifle, the care and maintenance of the weapon system, and a solid understanding of internal, external, and terminal ballistics.
The course emphasizes the development of good habits to support the principles of precision marksmanship under all conditions. Officers will zero their rifles, learn to produce consistent shot groups, then learn to compensate for range and environmental condition which effect the point of impact of their round. Officers will learn to quickly acquire their target and accurately fire their patrol rifle out to 100 yards. Once this skill is acquired, officers will practice firing from improvised stable firing positions including: standing supported, kneeling, kneeling supported, and improvised supported positions.
Due to the fact officers use their patrol rifles and pistols in a variety of environments that may require deployment at various ranges, safe and professional weapons handling procedures are taught for close quarters engagements and suspect handling procedures. Shooting on the move, utilizing cover and transitioning to secondary weapon are addressed as well. The course culminates with a shooting evaluation under the constraint of time with the officer鈥檚 heart rate up to evaluate the officer鈥檚 proficiency.
Prerequisite: Must be a certified law enforcement officer and have a basic understanding of patrol rifle operation and maintenance.
