The print emphasis of ATU's Journalism Program allows students the opportunity to
learn and hone their skills in writing and editing, in preparation for a career with
news organizations. Course work begins with entry-level, multi-platform writing and
culminates with advanced reporting.
HANDS-ON LEARNING opportunities
News Reporting class, where students have weekly assignments intended for publication
in The Arka Tech, the university's student newspaper.
Staff positions on the newspaper, outside of their course work.
Students in the print practicum courses also help provide content for the newspaper.

Students living in states bordering Arkansas receive in-state tuition.

The Arka Tech student newspaper is a consistent award winner in competition through
the Southeast Journalism Conference and the Arkansas College Media Association.
